The Plastic Drum Institute represents manufacturers of new plastic drums in North America and their suppliers.

PDI is an affiliate of the Industrial Packaging Alliance of North America (IPANA).

Its manufacturer member companies are required to become members of IPANA and must manufacture new plastic drums in North America.

Associate member companies (suppliers) are also required to become IPANA members and must supply new plastic drum manufacturers in North America either with products such as components, accessories, raw materials, and equipment or package testing and consulting services.
